Confirm prenatal insurance coverage
Verify OB visits, delivery, newborn hospital care, and NICU tiers match what you expect on your plan.
Pull your plan's Summary of Benefits and Coverage (SBC) or member portal details. Confirm prenatal visits, labor and delivery, anesthesia, and inpatient newborn care are covered at in-network facilities. If your plan has tiered hospitals, know your out-of-pocket exposure before you are in labor.
Hawaii paid leave: Hawaii does not have a comprehensive paid family leave program. However, Hawaii's Temporary Disability Insurance (TDI) program covers the birthing parent's physical recovery period (typically 6–8 weeks), providing 58% wage replacement up to $765/week. TDI does not cover bonding leave for non-birthing parents or adoption. Paid family leave legislation has been proposed but not yet enacted. Verify programs for your employment type.
