Pull your plan's Summary of Benefits and Coverage (SBC) or member portal details. Confirm prenatal visits, labor and delivery, anesthesia, and inpatient newborn care are covered at in-network facilities. If your plan has tiered hospitals, know your out-of-pocket exposure before you are in labor.
Minnesota paid leave — Minnesota Paid Leave (MPL): Minnesota's Paid Leave program launched January 1, 2026. Provides up to 12 weeks of paid family leave for bonding with a new child. Employees who need both family and medical leave in the same year may qualify for up to 20 weeks combined. Wage replacement is on a sliding scale up to 90% for lower earners. Employees must have been employed for at least 90 days for job protection. Typical maximum duration (bonding / combined benefits): up to 12 weeks for relevant benefits (verify your situation). Wage replacement: Sliding scale; up to 90% for lower earners; higher earners receive a lower percentage. Benefits begin January 1, 2026.
